About Toro Investment Education

Taking the mystery out of investing for young people — one seminar, one article, one conversation at a time.

Meet the Founder — MBA, UCLA

Dan Hassey's passion for investing began over forty years ago. With an MBA from UCLA (Class of 1980) and a career spanning Merrill Lynch, Paine Webber, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, and his own registered investment advisory practice, he has spent decades helping everyday investors understand markets and build wealth.

As a Senior Research Analyst at James DiGeorgia & Associates, Dan's energy stock recommendations achieved a cumulative return of ~233% since inception in 2004 — this service is now closed. His Baby Boomer Portfolio service — focused on income, safety, and cash flow — generated consistent income averaging roughly 10% annually since inception in 2008, and is also now closed.

Dan's research is read all over the globe — by everyday investors in China, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Latin America, and Russia. He brings that same investment education directly to colleges, universities, and student organizations including SHPE. His mission is simple: take the mystery out of investing for young people and give them the tools to build lasting financial independence.
